The Gospel

God created us in His image to reflect His goodness and love, but through pride and sin we turned from Him, breaking our relationship and bringing death. Because He is just, God could not ignore sin, yet because He is love, He came Himself in the person of Jesus Christ to bear our punishment and reconcile us to Him. Jesus lived the sinless life we couldn’t, died in our place on the cross, and rose from the dead to prove His victory over sin and death. Salvation is a free gift received by faith, trusting not in our works, but in Christ’s finished work, and that faith naturally produces a changed heart and life. Through this love we are made new, called to turn from darkness, and to live reflecting the selfless love of the God who first loved us.

Dios nos creó a su imagen para reflejar Su bondad y Su amor, pero por orgullo y pecado nos alejamos de Él, rompiendo nuestra relación y trayendo muerte. Como Él es justo, Dios no podía ignorar el pecado; pero como Él es amor, vino Él mismo en la persona de Jesucristo para cargar con nuestro castigo y reconciliarnos con Él. Jesús vivió la vida sin pecado que nosotros no pudimos vivir, murió en nuestro lugar en la cruz y resucitó de entre los muertos para demostrar Su victoria sobre el pecado y la muerte. Dieu nous a créés à Son image pour refléter Sa bonté et Son amour, mais par l’orgueil et le péché nous nous sommes détournés de Lui, brisant notre relation avec Lui et apportant la mort. Parce qu’Il est juste, Dieu ne pouvait pas ignorer le péché ; mais parce qu’Il est amour, Il est venu Lui-même en la personne de Jésus-Christ pour porter notre châtiment et nous réconcilier avec Lui. Jésus a vécu la vie sans péché que nous n’aurions jamais pu vivre, Il est mort à notre place sur la croix et Il est ressuscité d’entre les morts pour prouver Sa victoire sur le péché et la mort. Le salut est un don gratuit reçu par la foi, en ne mettant pas notre confiance dans nos œuvres, mais dans l’œuvre accomplie de Christ, et cette foi produit naturellement un cœur et une vie transformés. Start with God - He created us and loves us.
Explain sin - We have all rebelled against God.
Introduce Jesus - Fully God, fully man, perfect and sinless.
Explain the cross - Jesus died in our place.
Explain the resurrection - Jesus conquered death.
Call for response - Salvation is a gift received by faith.
Invite discussion - Ask questions, listen, pray with them.

You don’t need a sermon.

Remembering the Gospel is simple with the GOD IS LOVE acronym:

G - God created us in His image

We were made to reflect His love.

O - Our sin separates us from Him

When we turn from God, we turn from love and goodness.
