Common Questions:
What are my next steps after believing the Gospel?
After believing the Gospel, your next steps include reading the Bible, gathering with a local church, growing in Christ-like living, loving others like Jesus, and sharing the Gospel with others.
How do I start following Jesus every day?
You start following Jesus daily by spending time in God’s Word, praying, obeying His teaching, turning away from sin, and walking in community with other believers.
Why is reading the Bible an important next step?
Reading the Bible is important because it helps you learn who Jesus is, understand God’s promises, grow in truth, and be strengthened in your new faith.
Do I really need to be part of a church to follow Jesus?
While salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone, God designed believers to grow in community. Being part of a local, Bible-believing church helps you worship, learn, receive support, and serve others.
How can I start loving and sharing like Jesus?
You can start loving and sharing like Jesus by caring for people around you, meeting practical needs, forgiving others, and sharing the Gospel with family, friends, and those you meet, using tools like The Pocket Gospel.
Where should I start in the Bible?
The Bible isn't one book, but a collection of books that all point to Christ. Starting in the New Testament helps prepare an unfamiliar reader to better understand the Bible as a whole. A great place to start, in order to better understand who Christ is, is The Book of John.
What Bible version should I read?
There are many great versions to read. For a first read through of the Bible, the New Living Translation (NLT) is a great place to start due to easier comprehension. Another awesome version is the Berean Standard Bible (BSB).
How do I love more like Christ?
Love isn't only displayed in big gestures, but can be seen in the small things. To love another is to selflessly put their needs above your own. See someone in thirst or hunger, give them water or food. Someone needs consoling, lend them a shoulder. Someone wronged you, request God forgive them. Want to show love toward someone? Share the Gospel with them and help them find the Love that Saves.
How can I overcome sin?
You can't on your own, but that is why God has given us His Spirit, to transform us. A great place to start is every time you struggle with temptation, pray. Struggling with anger or lust, pray for the person that is the object of it. Struggling with drugs or alcohol, remove yourself from it and pray for strength. Prayer redirects your thoughts to Christ.
